Senior Legal Counsel (m/f/d) in Group Legal

Job Purpose/Role
Group legal is the legal department of Allianz SE, the ultimate Holding Company of Allianz Group. Group Legal provides business-oriented legal advice to the Management Board, the Supervisory Board as well as to Group Centers, Business Divisions and Operating Entities of Allianz SE. It further assumes responsibility for legal matters that have group wide relevance or require a centralized decision-making process. Group Legal has 26 fully qualified lawyers, which are organized in different teams. The vacancy to be filled is within the team "Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)".

Key Responsibilities
Structuring of complex and mainly international M&A transactions. Advising on joint venture, bancassurance and venture capital transactions. Negotiation of transaction agreements and management of all legal matters throughout the transaction process from the due diligence process to signing and completion, including coordination of external legal advisors.

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience
Fully qualified lawyer with outstanding degree (German state exams "vollbefriedigend" or better or equivalent foreign qualification). Additional academic qualification useful (MBA, LLM or doctorate degree). Fluent business English required. German language skills useful.

Experience & Key Skills:
Minimum 3 years professional experience in M&A in an international law firm or an international company. Strong analytical problem solving, communication and negotiation skills. Pronounced ability to work autonomously and to steer legal work-streams in M&A projects efficiently and pro-actively within pre-defined parameters. Proven team player across different cultures with ability to share skills and knowledge. Openness and ability to familiarize with various legal systems. Pragmatic approach; fast perceptive understanding; ability to quickly adapt to situations and challenges.
