Cross-border instructions gaining significance

This success is documented by the fact that the firm improved its market position yet again this year in virtually all practices. Sometimes with, sometimes without bringing in best-friend and network firms, they advise on and coordinate increasingly complex instructions, not only deals but also in antitrust, for example.

There is no doubt that cross-border work is becoming more relevant for all firms. Industrial firms like DLA Piper and Baker & McKenzie have not left any blank spaces on their maps for some time; Dentons and Norton Rose Fulbright expanded their reach through mergers. Hogan Lovells is now profiting substantially from its transatlantic merger. And it is constantly carving out new opportunities to strengthen this connection: the patents practice, which has matured into the European market leader thanks largely to the German team, is now becoming a pillar of the firm’s US offices too.
