FRESHFIELDS BRUCKHAUS DERINGER

Comment: A leading employment practice. Embedded within the overall firm, the practice was involved in top-class internal investigations (e.g. VW) and restructuring work in an abundance that few competitors enjoy. Müller-Bonanni worked with the corporate practice to advise ADAC on introducing a new structure, as well as on an SE startup. The latter field kept the practice busy overall. Great strides were made in banking, where work involved the current payment issues in the market and FBD stood out for close ties to the ?bank regulatory lawyers. Advice to the pharma sector is a traditional specialty, often after transactions. High-end CTA structuring and the supply of temporary workers, esp. in the auto sector, rounded off the successful year.
Strengths: Project-related structuring work in complex transactions and restructuring projects, SE corporate codetermination, cross-border mergers and CTA structuring.
Recommended: Dr. Thomas Müller-Bonanni, Dr. Klaus-Stefan Hohenstatt, Dr. René Döring, Dr. Elmar Schnitker, Dr. Timon Grau.
Practice: Extensive practice providing specific employment advice to notable German and international companies, frequently on cross-border projects, changes of corporate form into SEs, transactional advice ( ?M&A), company pensions and internal investigations. (6 partners, 22 associates, 1 of counsel)
Clients: ?? ADAC on restructuring; Rewe regarding ministerial approval for Edeka/Kaiser’s Tengelmann; VW concerning diesel affair; Otto Bock on cross-border merger; Novartis on transferring employees to new organization.
