Comment: A respected firm for employment whose Düsseldorf office is very active on the interface with compliance and corporate. While the practice focused for a long time on stand-alone work, it is now more heavily involved in referrals since the overall firm expansion, esp. the corporate practice growth in Frankfurt. The employment practice cannot keep step with this in terms of personnel, esp. in Frankfurt and Munich. Although interoffice cooperation has improved in recent years, as shown in advice on the supply of temporary workers, the practice is still too small to handle multiple large projects at once.
Strengths: Advice to foreign companies and their German subsidiaries. Restructuring.
Development potential: Referrals within Germany work very well, but on the international stage the practice struggles: the once strong employment team in the UK has diminished in size; that is why there is a lack of work from this direction, which is otherwise growing in the market.
Recommended: Volker Teigelkötter, Dr. Paul Melot de Beauregard (“strong expertise and extremely quick”, client, “smart, international and competent”, competitor).
Practice: Advice to companies on projects, esp. ?insolvency and restructuring and personnel adjustment, also transactions. Ongoing advice on collective bargaining, deployment abroad and compliance. Advice to management. (4 partners, 3 associates)
Clients: ?? DMG Mori on corporate realignment; Mitsubishi Power on staff cuts; Atlas Copco/Leybold on restructuring; Praxair Surface on compliance; Fujifilm Imaging on site closures.
