GLAWE DELFS MOLL

Comment: This respected Hamburg patent attorney firm made the leap to a two-office practice by successfully integrating Hössle’s Stuttgart office (2016). From here, Glawe mainly advises on automotive and software patents. The firm’s work is based on a large number of traditional connections in the north German Mittelstand. The competitive Hamburg market offers little potential for growth nowadays, so expansion into south Germany was necessary. This is one reason why the patent attorneys are stepping up litigation activity, mainly with more opposition and nullity suits. Despite the litigation experience of some patent attorneys, Glawe is rarely seen in infringement proceedings.
Strengths: Patent prosecution and litigation related to electronics, mechanics, engineering, automotive and software.
European strategy: Glawe is first and foremost a national prosecution firm. But it wants to capitalize on the opportunities offered by the UPC system and in Keussen has a renowned expert on the new court. Glawe will have to deepen its mixed approach and reel in more international clients, who are more litigious than the German Mittelstand.
Recommended: Dr. Christof Keussen, Markus Hössle.
Practice: All-round IP activity. Two thirds of the practice is patent law with strong patent prosecution activity within a broad technical spectrum. Patent litigation predominantly with own lawyer. (Core team: 10 patent attorneys, 2 lawyers)
Clients: ?? Public knowledge: filing for E.on, Link Group, Lufthansa Technik, JVC Kenwood, Magna, NEC, Sanyo and Senvion. Nullity suits for international electronics and optics corporate.
